Underwater acoustics and other underwater technologies, which have started to be attracted to public institutions in defence sector since 2007, are highly developed and mature in the world scale. In many countries there are specialized university units and specialized industrial organizations operating in this field. This field has not improved at all as it has not been attracted to our country until recently. For example, there are only a few experts in Turkey on underwater acoustic systems. The number of experienced experts in this field is less. In this regard, Bilkent University has a special situation.
When this situation is evaluated, it is aimed to support all the organisations operating in the field of acoustics and underwater technologies in our country and to carry out research and development studies by establishing university-industry cooperation with these institutions when necessary. In this field, BASTA (Bilkent University Acoustics and Underwater Technology Research Center) was established in 2009 as a research center in Bilkent University.

Quality Management System: BASTA quality management system International Standardization Organization is established according to ISO 9001 standard. For this purpose, the quality management system infrastructure created and implemented by ISYAM is used again by our university research centers. In this scope, the required documentation is carried out for the required work.
